This report is abit late, however better late then never.
The last week of 2011 was well spent on Lake Sammamish.
Most years I would spend the month of December down on the Old Nisqually River
chasing Chum salmon with my spey and tube flies.
This year was abit different as I had a hard time getting back into the fishing mood.
I lost my father in september and fishing didn't seem the same without him.

I want to thank Keith, Corey and my nephew Wesley for the best memories of the year.
We landed some beautiful Sea Run Cutthroat and shared memories that will last a lifetime.

Now that I have all that out the way on with the report.

The fish seem to be on the move. we had to search the lake each day to find them.
One day they were on the north end of the lake and the next day the bite was on near the weather station.

One this particular day Wesley lanaded the larger Cutt measuring 18 3/4 in.
The fish and game recorded all of our fish and stated that wesley's fish was the largest he had recorded this season.

We had limits and most fish were 2yr fish.
The bait of choice was a UV doger and Keith's Fancy tolled at 1.5 to 2 mph.

Tight lines to everyone for 2012.

Thank you all for your condolences.
I'll see if I can post a picture of Keith's Fancy.
Some background info on the lure.
I along with Keith tied up a bunch of wedding rings before our first day on the water.
You can never be sure what a fish wants to eat.
Needless to say Keith was getting bit 3 to my 1.
I break down and ask what wedding ring are you using as his rod is bent down again.
On close observation, as Keith was reeling in a beautiful 17+ inch Cutthroat I noticed something different about his wedding ring.
He stats "this one is just beads and doesn't have a blade, I ran out of blades for them last night. LOL.

That got me to thinking. Running a spinner blade behind my sling blade causes it to loose some action as the spinner blade has drag.
That night I tied up some beads with out a blade and to top it off added some flash to spruce things up as I do with my spay flies.

Keith's Fancy was borne.

The next day on the water I was hooking fish left and right....... LOL
Please if you tie your own color combos keep the name as I promised Keith we would make this simple lure famous.
Again, I'll attempt to post a picture in the forums for all to view.

Cheers Will
