WOW it was cold today!! Really cold! We found a good bite on the lower basin first thing this morning.. 'til the wind blew us away. So to escape the weather we headed for the yacht club. The T4 purple glow picked up one good fish, but the bite was pretty slow. We ended our day back in the lower basin where we managed to hook a few more hungry lakers. Tough fishing! Lots of light bites and lost fish. The majority of our fish came off the Hi-Fly in 180 to 220 ft of water. My lesson for the day: Make sure you have extra fuses for your scotty electric downriggers! Everything was so frozen today that the auto-stoppers would run right on through without triggering the downriggers to shut off. This brings the ball right up into your boom and toasts the fuses. Easy fix, but something to watch out for. Good luck and stay warm!
