After a banner day at fourth of July yesterday the boys talked me into joining them at Hog Canyon today. The weather was much nicer, the fishing was not. Did not have the slush we did yesterday and the ice was a minimum of six inches or more. I had one nice catch the first half hour in and was excited. Little did I know that would be my last for the day. Of the three of us there only two fish came in. Both were taken on worms. Tried several different areas and could not improve our luck. Saw another gentleman get wet up to his hip when he stepped into an abandoned ice hole chopped by and axe or the like. Not sure why such large dangerous holes are left behind for others to find unexpectedly. Watch your step on the ice!
