Back on Lake Chelan again today and we put a hurtin' on em'! Started the day bright and early in trenches. The bite was hot right of the bat.. we caught 5 fish in the first pass. After that it became sort of hit and miss. We might troll for 30 minutes or so without even a nibble and then "Boom" double up! That kept Todd and Steve on there toes! At noon we docked the boat and went into town for lunch and came up with a game plan to find "The Big One". With full bellies we cruised up to the deep water and started our hunt. The bite was slower up there, but we did manage to bring a few to the boat.. biggest fish was right at 6 lbs. Todd did get to see what a big one feels like though when his rod came off the downrigger. He got a few good head shakes and was losing line when the hooks pulled out! Oh well that's fishing! Most productive bait again was the Hi-fly followed by the Purple Glow Flatfish. We kept our speed between 1.3 and 1.5 mph to be productive. The fish in the lower basin seemed to be scattered, but we caught most of our fish between 170 and 240 feet of water. Couldn't ask for better weather or a better group of guys!
