Hit good ole' Rockster on Saturday with my fishin partner, Papa Fish. Got on the water around 0830 and the wind was howling as to be expected, however mellowed down as the day progressed. 39 degree water temps with a bit of overcast, rods rigged and ready.
Hit our 1st stretch and about 10 casts into it I hook up with our 1st brownie. Into the net, quick picture, and back into the lake she went. We hit it hard for six hours, and ended up catching and safely releasing 16 trout, 15 browns and 1 bow. Biggest fish went close to 20 inches. Great day of catching!
We had a couple of laughs as always. Papa Fish got his lure hung on a tree branch and popped it loose. The lure sailed thru the air and landed in the water maybe 10 feet on the opposite side of the boat. No sooner than the lure hit the water we watched a brown come snatch it from the surface! Oh, and we managed to bust the prop on the electric motor banging it off a rock:) Oops
Lots of people bank fishing at the launch, if thats what you want to call it. We will be returning soon to see if we can reunite with that big girl that decided she didn't want to play. Tight lines!

Prime time Browns right there.. Nicccccccce. What brand of swimbait is that and how long is it? Cool to see the colors on that as well. Awesome that you let them go. Did you happen to notice if the bankee's did any good?

The swimbait is 5 inches. Upon chatting with a few bank fisher folk it did not sound like anyone was having much luck. I LOVE my TDA advantage. It is a little bigger to palm and a bit heavier than my Curado, but it is soooooooo smooth it's crazy. I was thinking of upgrading the spool bearings to ABEC orange, but I don't think I need to. Get one!

It can be pretty tough to catch fish at the "launch" from shore. I see fish raising pretty well at that area before daybreak and near sunset, but I seldom see anything on my locator when I motor back in the middle of the day.

Additionally, you have about 5 to 15 feet of shallow water that drops straight off to 20 feet on a cliff edge. I'll bet that there is a thousand dollars in hooks and sinkers snagged on that cliff.

Still, there are fish caught there at times, but it is not a high percentage area.

I was marking a fair amount of fish on the opposite side of the launch, out of casting distance, but who knows what they were. To bad a banker can't access that side, or can you?
