3/28/2012 11:14:00 PMI was tempted to go to Silver Lake today but noooo I decided to go to Ballinger instead. I'm the opposite of you in regards to wind... if its coming from my back I'm ok... face not so. Rain... ewww but if I catch a big fish I'm stuck. The winds at Ballinger were nasty... even the bald eagles were anchoring themselves to the trees.

3/29/2012 11:33:00 AMI don't think there is a launch at Silver. I park in the lot and assemble a Portabote and roll it down to the water. Does anyone else know of a real launch on Silver?

3/30/2012 8:22:00 AMOk. Yeah, I figured there wasn't one. The amount of fish they put in was something that I wanted to try. Sounds like a nice lake. Just wish they had a launch.

3/31/2012 12:39:00 PMBack in the days of the April opener, we used to take our boys (they're now in their 30's) to Silver. We launched on the east side by the tavern that was "arsoned" a while back. Don't know if that area is still available or not.

4/4/2012 3:24:00 PMYeah heard they stocked it 3/21 with 4000 fish. I haven't tried it I live right by there but sadly no boat lauunch. You can go to the park by emory's and if you have a buddy can launch a small boat. You have to haul it a ways. Not exactly easy for one person.
