Got to the lake this morning around 10:00 after waiting in Construction on the way up from wenatchee. Three Boats on the lake already, and a few people from shore. Wind was blowing puting a nice chop on the water, my friend and I started at the west end of the lake drifting with the wind with both a bottom setup and bobbers, got up along the weeds and started haveing luck. bobbers were going down left and right and our powerbait/egg setup was nailing them on the bottom! Fishing was non stop , 2 RB trout in the boat and 6 lost during battle, untill the wind stoped @ 10:30. calm as cood be a great day on the water, but the BITE was gone, fished 5 more hours with a few more lost fish. Ended the day off trolling around and cooking up some Beer Brawts while perch fishing. all in all a great experience! worth the trip

What size were the trout? So, you were using slip bobbers to fish near the bottom? I should be fishing here some time soon. How much road construction North of HWY 2, on 97 or 97 ALT ? I would like to stay away from that.

The trout were all between 12'' - 15 '' Slip bobbers were good, played around with depth a lot, the closer to shore the shorter we set them, worms and a small jig. fished them from 3ft - 8ft with luck. It was a fast way to keep covering water, then once we found the fish we anchor up and throw out our bottom powerbait rods too. 3 1/2 ft leader 1/4 - 1/2 ounce wt. powereggs. We Went up 97 on the way there, ended up waiting a 1/2 hour! for the one lane road. they were puting the rumble strip in the middle of the road, needless to say on the way home we took 97 ALT , haha just about into Wenatchee when we had to stop for one lane work due to the rock stabilization work. at least that wait wasnt near as long! FYI WDFW will be planting roses very soon with some nice triploids from Chelan Trout Hatchery. : ) go get emm!
