Went to Scooteny, because I was too cheap and annoyed to burn gasoline (at $4.20 a gallon) going up to the Columbia Basin. Went to a special spot at the upper end of Scootney Reservoir, in the hopes of getting a few perch.

I didn't catch anything, until I noticed the schools of carp swimming by. Went back to my truck, got my bowfishing bow (that I'd thrown in there on a whim), and went back.

I'm new at bowfishing, so I missed a lot of shots. But I nailed seven or eight nice carp (8-12 lbs), and shot enough to be highly amused.

The fishing sucked, but the bowfishing was pretty good. Two of the carp were females, **loaded** with eggs (my god, carp have an unbelievable number of eggs). So I think I did my share at helping the environment by removing a prolific invasive species!!!

My son in law and I were out on the 5th. Same results. We were in a boat. Fished deep, fished shallow, fished all around the lake, but no luck. Water temp was 46 to 47. Maybe it's still too cold.
