It was such a nice evening we decided it was the perfect time to take my daughter (age 3) out for her 1st fishing adventure. Man was she excited! I rigged up a little Batman combo I found on a riverbank a few years ago and had cleaned up with a bobber & hook and headed down the hill to Logboom Park. We parked, I gave her the rod and she walked as fast as she could (after I told her "no running with the fishing rod") out to the docks. I let her choose the bobber color and since I was in a hurry to get down there for some fun before it started getting dark I didn't have time to dig up any worms, so I just wacky rigged some dropshot plastics under her bobber (she got to choose the worm color also). I then let her choose where we fished, showed her how to reel and tossed it out. Of course, just sitting got boring fast, so it didn't take long to lose the bobber and throw a split shot on and just wing it out there and let her bring it back. No fish were caught, but she had a ball and actually lasted about an hour before deciding it was time to go play (which I thought was pretty impressive). On the walk out she says "no fish at home today daddy, maybe tomorrow?" Music to my ears! Think we'll dig up some worms and hit Greenlake next.

Now for your info.. We fished the north/shallow end of the dock. Just at the end of the railing. There was another family there fishing at the end through the railings - three kids, mom & dad. There were a few guys fishing out on the lake end of the dock but we didn't go out there. Didn't see any fish hooked or caught. I did however get my license checked by a WDFW Officer - 1st time in 30 years of buying em. Nice guy, came to the dock by boat and checked everyone. After me he checked the family - never wrote any tickets but he talked to the dad for awhile and they packed up and left right then, so I am thinking he might not have had one, but not sure.
