Beautiful day on the lake, got to the point where I'd wished I'd worn shorts and a tshirt. Got the new poles and downriggers out this time around and it didn't make a bit of difference. All the fish seem to be near the top. Plenty of fish in the 11-12" range can be caught trolling a spinner by itself or with corn, I'm sure worms would work great as well. I even trolled a fly for fun and it caught a 9" fish.

Surface temp started at 49 degrees and heated up to just under 54 by the afternoon. Fished from 8am or so till about 1-2. Mild wind at times kept you nice and cool, but when it stopped it was too hot for pants and a long sleeve shirt. If we had gotten there earlier we'd of hit the rain clouds.

Using the same tackle as last report. Dark spinners, but I tried some white corn on the spinner this time around and it worked just as well. Downriggers were overkill. You can troll anywhere from 5-15 feet deep and catch fish. I'm not sure we got anything below 20 feet. We also caught a couple while casting. Teaching my Dad to use his new baitcaster, shoulda seen the birds nest on his first cast. But after the 15 minutes of untangling it he was rewarded later with catching a few fish on it, throwing spoons and spinners. Just like last time, the fish aren't scared of taking something from the surface near your boat. They were feeding the entire time we were there.

Everything was catch and release this day but I'm entirely sure it's possible to limit out in an hour or two tops. If I'd have gotten one of the triploids it'd have gone in the cooler though. No such luck so only 4 stars today. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Osprey were picking fish out of the water and at least 4 deer were on the hillside again.
