Fished Beaver from 9:30 to 2:30. Not red hot, but got plenty of action trolling a perch rapala and a metallic blue flatfish on the top with no weight. Boated 9, kept 5. Many other strikes and long-distance self releases. Great sunnny day with numerous other boaters and bankers out.

The only minor downer was all the people who insisted on bank fishing at the boat launch. They were often in the way of boats comming in or going out, at this narrow launch. The nearby park had much more space available to fish and nobody trying to launch boats. One banker at the launch was even complaining about the constant flow of boats in and out of the launch.

But, I had a great time. Especially when that 16 incher hit, which was what I was waiting for to send me home. He took some line off of the reel, which always is a thrill. Fish were 16, 12, 11, 10, and 10 inches.

Great report. Thanks for the picture. Beaver is one of my favorite local lakes. I often fish on Fridays from the bank at the park. Silver Mepps spinners and blue/silver Kastmasters have been the best producers for me.

Hey urban I was the sunburned old guy in the hard shell pontoon, great day on the water glad you did well. Those guys at the boat launch sheesh. They think cause the cast a line they have domain over that area lol. I guess I could tell em they are never gonna catch anything but disgusted looks from the boaters launching their boats. Seriously do they think any fish are going to be in that vicinity with all the traffic going in and out.? not a bad spot early in the morning before the boater arrive but that is the only time.
