4/25/2012 8:35:00 PMThat has been the pattern lately at American. Take downs that don't hook up. This year the Kokanee bite is starting late due to the cold water temps. Once the water maintains a 54 degree temperature, the Kokanee fishing at American Lake is tremendous. I've seen people catch Kokanee using all kinds of different setups. For American Lake I prefer using a small dodger with Ultra Violet Pink on it, and either a 10-12 inch leader to a homemade pink wedding ring, or a 6-8" leader with a Ultra Violet Pink MiniShrimp. You got the right idea with the corn. Lately the fish have been in the top 10 feet of the water so flat line your troll approx 60-100 ft behind the boat. Sunrise and sunset have been the most productive times.
