Fished Homestead Lake from around 11am to 3pm with no luck at all. I came the long way from the Fish and game parking at the end of road 12 (if you go this rout and walk down the blocked off road, its the second lake you can see along the path, and the road never actually goes to it, you need to cut through the sagebrush another 100 yards or so). I fished along the east side of the lake. Tried two spots about 200 yards from the south point of the lake, and one spot about 100 yards from the north side of the lake, right were a steam come into the lake. Got maybe two nibbles in the 4 hours i was there (so light i couldn't for certain even say they were bites for sure). I have been told there are decent fish in here, most of which are brown trout and some rainbow, but i sure didn't see any action all day, and i wont be going back. Weather was overcast and light rain off and on.
