Hey All,
Myself and RicknTK fished American Lake with 2 wounded warriors, Frank and Lee, on Saturday. I think both vets caught limits of trout, though they threw some of the smaller ones back. I'm not a trout fisherman, so the trout fishing was for them.
Did do a little perch fishing in the afternoon just to see if they were getting ready to school and get the bite on. Caught the first and only perch of the year, along with a few rock bass. Soon, soon, soon..... The kokanee fishermen/fisherwomen looked to have pretty slow fishing, and there were a lot of boats out early in the morning.
Water temp.s up to 55F in the afternoon, not really much warmer than the last few weeks.
Just a note. Anyone interested in taking out a wounded warrior or two just give me a call. They are stationed at JBLM, so American Lake is easy for them. Fishing other places can be done also, but where ever you want to take them fishing, I need 10 days to two weeks advance notice so they can schedule doctor appointments, therapy, etc. I usually feed them lunch and have drinks available.
To get onboard and take a wounded vet out, call Randy at: (425) 791-2901, or randyrlee2@yahoo.com
I fish American a lot. Grey Alumaweld with black canvas or bimini top. Next time you see us on the water, give us a shout. Shout loud though, we usually have some music going on.
Fishing is fun, but catching is great.
randy
