Fished the 2012 Rod Meseberg Spring Walleye Classic this weekend with my brother Kelly. We also had camera man Craig Brissey onboard filming for a new outdoor TV series. Saturday we weighed 5 fish totalling 18.3 Lbs with a 5.8 lb big fish. Saturday was my day to lose fish as I had two come unbuttoned near the boat. This put us in fourth position overall. The big fish was 3rd biggest of the day as well. Sunday the wind died off and so did the bite. We weighed 3 fish for 11.06 lbs. Kelly had two fish come unhooked Sunday. Frustrating to say the least! Any one of these four fish would have gave us the win! We finished 4th out of a field of 66 boats with a total weight of 29.36lbs. A great weekend. We trolled crawler spinner harnesses, flies, walleye demon spinners, and slow-death rigs. Fishing all week leading up to the tournament was VERY tough so to have a pretty fair catch when it counted was awesome! Fishing will continue to improve throughout the spring and early summer. I have several May openings and only a few June dates left so make your reservations now.
