I went fishing with Glen and Cami for kokanee. Glen hooked one we never seen but it was pulling really hard on his little craponee rod. I think he should post the video. Slammin8er gave us some of his gear and bait because he was catching. This didn’t even help us. Zero kokanee caught but there were stocker trout to catch. We fished from 6-11am. It was mostly cloudy with a breeze. It felt cold. Cami was really cold. Water temp was 53.
A side note...Kokanee Kid was texting me cute little things to title the report like “American Lake smells like skunk” or because it was Cinco de Mayo “Skunk olé.”

Did you see that water skier at 0600? I caught a 12" koke off the sw side of the island at 0620 and nothing but a couple of bites until noon when another 12" koke came aboard on the nw side of the island. Both were on a flatline at 85 feet back (have a line-counting reel). Stuck it out till 1530 without incident. Water temps at 0600 was 54.6 and warmed to 60.1 in areas around the island/boathouse. Things should start popping soon? See you on the water - look for the orange bicycle safety flag on the stern.

I have seen you. More that once. Unless there is more than one bicycle flag. No I did not see one at 6. How did you keep the trout off your line?

Don't know. Tied up some 1/2 wedding rings like Mike makes, 12-14" behind a small dodger, and scented shoepeg. Read an article in Kokanee University where he rigs up a spinner followed by several glass beads and glow beads on wire about 4" long with swivels. He puts this on the reel end of the flasher. He claims the spinner does not constantly rotate because of the waving motion of the dodger and causes the spinner to hit against the glass beads. This creates a close-in attraction noise in addition to the long-distance vibrations of the dodger. I have been using one for several weeks and noticed an increased bite/catch.
