Maybe I need to change my target species. Picked up my son from school and headed to Kapowsin, launched around 1PM on the hunt for bucketmouths. Tried my spinnerbait in various presentations, slow rolled, burned, twitch but nothing. Tried a green Mad Bass Tube and had some signs of life, had a few bass follow it up. A couple little runts but one decent sized bass came in for a few good looks but I couldn't seal the deal, infact, wasn't sure if I should try another bait because she seemed interested but not hitting. She wasn't a hawg but I estimate her to be near the 4lb range. I did also manage to catch/release a rainbow trout on a spinnerbait. Just as my previous reports, the trout anglers are doing very well with trolling wedding rings and we also saw some shore anglers catching triploids on powerbait. I'm no expert but I suspect that if this good weather continues without these sudden cold fronts blasting through, the bass bite will be getting excellent very quickly.
