First of all I would like to say that the washington state largemouth is the most finicky fish ever ! Atleast right now . I got on the water around 8 and started fishing willow tail weeds with a booyah spinnerbait and nothing . Moved over to some docks and spotted a good 18"+ largemouth nesting at the end of a long dock . I quicky switched from spinnerbait into a YUM crawdad (orange/grey) and as I put the lure into the bed the bass darted the opposite direction.... That is not suppose to happen or am I missing some facts about their spawning behavior . It left it's nest all alone . I gave up on him and looked for the female to see if she would take a bite at the lure and I fact she did but i missed the strike because I was still stumped over the buck not being interested. Overall it was a good day to be out on the water alone. O yeah shore angling is decent. I landed about six 12"+ rainbows using a orange rooster tail and chartuese rooster tail . Lines tight people ! Let me know if anybody knows where the bass are certainly biting .
