I got onto the lake at 5:30am. The weather was great with no wind and flat water. I set up to troll along the Va side using Pink dodger's with pink mini hootchie on one pole and light green spatterback hootchie on the other one. I set one at 20' and the other at 30'. I went with this set for awhile with one hookup and lost at 20' so I took the deeper one and rigged it to surface troll. After a bit the topwater line hooked another and got it too the boat and lost it. Started to have a pattern of coming unhooked on me. Around 9:30 The line at 20' hooked into a nice kokanee that I managed to get into the boat. It was real fat and 15". This thing had alot of fight in it. Thought I had a small steel on for a minute.
After that I had both lines at 20 and 30' both pulling hootchies. I had one more hit on the deeper line and got it to the boat to once again come unhooked. I decided to call it a day then as the wind had picked up and was getting tired of hooking but not getting in the boat. It was a real nice day all together except for the wind. The green hootchie and green wedding ring on top seemed to be doing it today. I never did get a hit on the pink. I was also tipping with maggot.
