Started out from the boathouse at 5:30 this morning with nothing biting until 6:30 and then it was hot. From 6:30 to 7:30 I had 7 nice Kokes on and 5 in the boat. The smallest one weighed 1.25lbs and was 15 inches and the biggest was 1.5lbs and 16 inches. I was using the normal setup (the Uncle BIll and a small dodger.) I used white corn on the top hook and pink gulp maggots on the bottom hook. All 7 fish that got on were between 52 and 56 feet down and in 80ft of water. These fish are big and bringing them in from 50ft down is sure a lot of fun on light tackle.

Yes I think the picture of you is better. It really shows how big the fish are.

Thanks Toni, they are some beautiful fish! I am a big guy and those fish dont look small. The quality of fish on American this year is awesome! Next time I see you out there I will say hi for sure. The wind was blowing me all over this morning. For the first time ever I trolled with my 25 horse and didnt use the electric. Makes me wonder if that helped?

Mike@bills, how did the recon trip to Lake Stevens go? Did you have a chance to read my recent kokanee blog? I hope it helps out for the derby on Saturday.

Thanks rseas I did just read your blog and made a comment. After seeing it I kinda want to write something for American since I would say I probably fish it more than most. It is good to get this kind of info out to people so they can be as successful as the next guy. After getting this limit in the picture I stopped by 3 boats that I recognized and gave some advice and even gave away some gear to help one guy. I enjoy it when other people catch fish just as much as I enjoy catching them.

I ended up giving away some gear that day too. I saw some people out on the water I knew and gave them all the info they needed to get the job done. I try and help as many people out as I can I love to see guys catch fish that dont normally do that well. As for ScreamingEagle he is having a great year! you couldnt ask for a better fishing partner.
