Went to Roses today since the wind was light. Water was calm to slight chop, so it was an easier day of boat control than yesterday. We still pulled in tons of small (5-7") crappie, but were able to find some larger ones in deeper water since we could hold position and hunt for them. We kept 9 and as I was cleaning them, Cindy landed another one and a couple of keeper bluegill. The smallest one we kept was around 10", and the largest was 12 1/2". Still slow bite for the larger spinyrays, but it will light up soon. Cindy was using 1/16 oz jighead with Berkley mini-creature and a crappie nibble while I was reeling em in on a 1/60 oz jig head and a "Pink" trout Magnet", and also uses a 2" gulp minnow with equal success. A great day on the water and good fillets for the skillet.
