Went to Tapps this morning. Water temp has dropped at least 4 degrees. Fishing was tough. Managed to catch 7. All on a weightless StickO, and nothing over 1 1/2 lbs. Couldn't get a bite on anything else, and didn't get a bite on open banks. All were on docks or boat lifts. The billboard in front of the pay booth finally has the launching rate for seniors posted. $5. So it hasn't changed from last year. Good news.

Maybe if we have a few days of consecutive nice weather the water will heat up enough to get the bite to turn on again.

I was wondering if you know the answer to a question - Ive been fishing Tapps for 3 years now and every year we always go past the booms into the PSE park area, and Ive never had a problem with that from the groundskeeper. Last week, there was a guy on a moterized cart that came aroung and told us that we couldnt be past the booms anymore between memorial day and labor day, and I question the validity of that, since the water is not private property. Have you been told this as well, do you know anything about this? seems strange...

Sorry it took so long reply. The wife and I went to the ocean. I take it you're talking about the boomed off area to the left of the boat ramp. Personally, I have never thought to fish in there. I'm sure the park considers that area as the swimming area. And I can see where their coming from in wanting it a restricted area. First comes someone fishing in there, then cranking up the big motor to leave, then comes jet skiers idling through and so on. With swimmers present I'm sure you can see the tragic possiblities. Whether it's legal or not, all I know is I see boomed off areas all the time at parks and resorts. And I can live with that.

Yeah we usually fish in there every year, we dont have bass boats we are on a pontoon raft that we paddle around so no motor, but there hasnt ever been a problem fishing in there in past years, and it is good back in there because there are several beds that we have caught large fish on. I guess I can see if they want to keep people out who DO have motors etc. on thier boats as not to disturb the people staying in the park, but there is an opening and all it says is "no wake zone beyond boom" so we were always under the impression that if you are quiet and paddle in and out there wouldnt be a problem.

Oh well just wanted to check and see what your experience has been, there are plenty of other good spots to fish!
