My 11th year fishing the week before Memorial Day weekend. Fishing was "tough". Windy and cooler than usual. My partner and I managed to hook 39 fish (catch and release) between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. All fish caught on chironomids. We have done well in the past casting and trolling wet flies as well, but the wind made that all but impossible. Fewer fish (still plenty), but averaged much larger than years past. Most 12"-16" with one going over 20" and fat. Look forward to June.
