Arrived at the 65 St dock around 2PM. The dock was already full of people catching fish. They make some space for me and I fished the middle left of the dock. They had two nice triplolids among the group. The right side was catching fish while my pole was being set up. It was a sign of a good fishing day except I only had two nibbles for the next 3 hours. Have you ever had those days where everyone around you was catching fish and you couldnt buy a solid bite? Thats what it felt like today.
Its now almost 5PM and the dock is clearing up. I move over to the right side since that was the hot side. I make my cast and start watching the resident heron. It always gets people to stop jogging and start taking pictures of it. All of a sudden, a beast is pulling my rod over my back pack and into the lake. I lunge and take hold of my Lami. I set the hook hard and the leader breaks at the knot on the snap swivel. Bummer, it was probably my chance at a triploid. Over the next 40 minute, I limited out. It was a decent day siince I didnt lose my rod to the lake and I got the Green Lake skunk off my back.
