Arrived at lake about 7:30AM. First time to Storm. Brought my new SeaEagle frameless pontoon boat, second time I've had it on the water. It is a wonderful little craft. Just getting used to it. Got my gear together and was on the water by 8:30. Put on a Olive Wooley Bugger and began rowing toward south end of lake, (interm. sink-tip). Stayed about 100' from shoreline. Had first hit almost immediately, then six more before hooking and landing first trout, about 11", about 9:00. Wind was blowing from North, so I pretty much let it carry me along. Had a dozen more hits, no hook-ups. Spoke to a couple of fellows in float tubes, had watched them land a couple trout, they said they were using "Wild Willies"... a new one to me... will file that away! When I told them about all my hits, one of the fellows suggested I trim the tail of the WB. This I did, and within two minutes had my second trout to the boat. About 11:00 the wind stopped and the lake went flat. Saw lots of rises, so I switched to a Olive dun dry. Cast to a feeding trout and watched it suck up my fly. Third trout kept for dinner (one for the wife, two for me!) Caught two more the same way, released them. Wind came up again, this time from the south. Put a smaller Olive WB on my floating line and trolled against the west shoreline and around the south end of lake. Caught and released another 7 trout (one went about 15"). Lost about 10 at the boat... couldn"t keep the darn things in the water... jumping and throwing the fly. Saw some real slabs break the surface, some big trout out there! Left the lake about 3:00PM. Had an absolutely great time! Will make Storm a preferred destination!

when i was a kid storm lake is where my dad used to take me back in the 80s that lake has always been full of fish and belive me there are sum big trout in there and bass and if u like crawdads the lake is plum full of them too

@MudSkunk.... Remember that fully!!! In HS, we used to run around w/ a 15hp outboard to get to the bass and then do some trout... hawgs in there... I saw some guys w/ a full-on bass-boat out there a few weeks ago. Once it went to NO-OUTBOARDS in early 90's, we were only required to prop-up and put a garbage-sack over outboard. I was pretty bummed when i saw the bass-boat using 24volt HUGE thrusters in there. Had i known it was LEGAL, i would have brought my boat there too rather than float-tubing! BTW, posted twice about finding a rod-reel combo out there at dusk a month ago. IF ANYONE can claim it, you know who you are. Need a LOST-AND-FOUND on the site!

Oops- left out the fact they had a Yamaha 90h/p Outboard on, just propped up. Maybe i am missing something in Regs! If so, pray-tell! I'd love to hit Storm via nice boat. I just figured they got away with it via propped-up.
