I droped by the park after work and was suprised to find I had the lake to myself. Many fish rolling on the surface so I was sure the 2nd pole with the Bobber and worm would be the ticket especially since I was the main course for the Mosquito's! I gave out a few free worms on the bobber, but it Turns out the bottom was where all the action was. I got the first 17" Trippy about 8pm. At 9pm as i I was packing up to leave, and as I reached for my rod it was hit just as hard as the first time. To my suprise It was not a trout, but a huge 12" small mouth Bass that apperently has a taste for power eggs. I set the Bass free to go and make some big ole babies! Senior Trippy got a free ride strait into my freezer for a future BBQ. This was my first Tripp and my largest small mouth Bass ever. Although I did not limit out it was definitly the best time I have ever had waiting for traffic to work itself out!

That's actually a crappie, not a bass. Nice fish though!

Nice fish! I have been catching crappies in Beaver as well, usually one or two each outing. Always on a plastic, never on the bottom. But, this is bigger than any I have seen. I also release them, although I understand they are quite good to eat.

That's a really good sized crappie. Use to catch them that big down south...Shreveport, LA.
