We had a soggy day today on Lake Chelan, but the fishing was excellent! We decided that first thing in the morning we would target Kokanee and then move on to the Lakers later in the day. We started our troll right around the Blue Roof Condos and it didnt take long before we were into the Kokes. The bite stayed pretty consistant all morning and with a lot of lost fish and bait we managed to limit out the boat with these silver bullets! The majority of our fish were caught pretty deep.. between 40 and 80 feet down, but we also hooked several on a weighted flat line that couldnt have been much deeper than 30 feet. We were using a combo of Macks Lures Cha Cha Squidders and Kokanee Killers baited with white corn and pulled behind a Mack's Lure Double D Dodger. It was a blast! When we finally decided to go fish for Lakers we headed to the top of Mack bar and started our troll towards Rocky Point. We had just gotten all the gear put out when BOOM the downrigger popped up! After a good battle Josh brought a 12 lb pig to the back of the boat! Great way to start! We managed to hook a few more fish on the bar before calling it a day. The Ace Hi-Fly and Smile Blade combo did it for us again. The Lake Trout bite was a little slow today, but with a limit of Kokanee and a 12 lb Laker in the boat its hard to complain! Top all that off with the steaks that Paul fixed for us on the bbq and it's just hard to beat. I want to give a huge thanks to Paul Richardson and Josh Carter for fishing with me today. What a day!

Thanks for the good report Anton, looks like a bright year for the Kokanee. Have you ever fished the upper end of the lake near Stehekin, and Field Springs Park for Kokanee, and Lakers, and do you think the fishing would be as good at the upper end?
