Arrived at lake about 5:30AM. One fisherman on pier (Joe), several on shoreline. Very windy and quite chilly. Had first strike and landed first fish about 6:00, just as friend Pete arrived. Figured to be a "slam-dunk" day... was wrong! Wind really blew, from the south and brought a real chill to the air... felt like November! More fishermen arrived on pier, and watched 10 to 12 boats launch between 6:00 and 8:00. Little success on pier, but saw a couple of fish landed on shoreline. Finally, some hits on the pier... Joe, Pete and I had hits and each landed a fish about 8:00. Others had arrived and some caught a fish or two. Pete had his 5 by 11:00 (must be the way he holds his tongue!!). I had two more by 11:30, but couldn't get the last one. All the boats were off the lake by 10:30, most of them reporting limits, trolling worms with gang-trolls or wedding-rings. To change things up, I tied a red and silver SuperDuper on my ultra-light rod and started to spin-cast. About a dozen casts and I had another fish, lip-hooked, so released it, then three more in the next twenty minutes. Kept my fifth trout and left at 1:00PM. Fish were all in 11"-12" range, had one that went 13 1/2. Fish seem to be more scattered now and bite comes off and on. About noon, a truck from Willow Creek hatchery arrived and dumped in 400-500 left over trout from last week-end's Edmonds' festival. All in all, a great day of fishing! Good friends, Eagles and other avian characters putting on their usual shows...soooo much better than wasting a Saturday AM in front of the Boob-tube!!!
