Me and my girlfriend fished from the shore at the boat launch from 2-6pm. The gf was trying for trout, casting out to the deeper water and using powerbait and power eggs with a 3-4 ft leader, while I fished shallow looking for bass. There were some private docks on either side of the boat launch, as well as some areas of vegetation that looked promising. I started with a white/chartreuse/pink spinnerbait then switched to Texas-rigged worms. The only hit I got was with a 3-inch live nightcrawler with a couple of split shot sinkers, but the fish must've spooked easily because he took off after that first nibble and I couldn't get him to bite again. My gf didn't even get one bite and we both went home empty-handed. It was a quiet, partially cloudy day and I'm surprised we didn't have better luck. There was only one other guy fishing from the shore (using a topwater crankbait) and one boat trolling the middle, and none of them were catching anything either. A really slow day for everyone, and rather disappointing since I've heard good things about this lake. It was a nice change of pace from the overcrowded lakes I usually go to, so I will be back for a second try soon.
