Hit Long lake yesterday afternoon. Took my daughter with me, first time this year for her out on the water. We caught about a dozen smallies from dinks up to about 3 1/2lbs. Tubes were the ticket, although Juli had what appeared to be about a 5-6lb largemouth blow up on but miss her buzzbait. We decided to try a little crappie fishing and ended up catching between 30 and 40 crappies. Most were about 9-10" but we did catch three between 15-16". Most were caught around trees in the water. The only lure we used was a 1\64th oz jig with a 2" power grub in nat/chart color. The crappie were hanging just a few feet under the trees and couldn't resist the slow fall of our jigs. Juli caught about a 3lb smallie on her ultralight setup, that was a fun battle to watch. Heading to the Arm tomorrow to try for some walleyes.

Water temp 55-60 deg, still very cold for this time of year.

We were fishing the shoreline on th opposite side of the river from Tum Tum
