Had a satisfying walking and fishing session at Green Lake today. Released 4 rock bass, and two small trout. Kept one larger trout, but gave it away so I could still keep walking and fishing. A green and silver Kastmaster got all of the action. Had several misses and long-distance-self-releases. Weather was a pretty windy (white caps), but not much rain. Plenty of other bank fisherman, and a few brave souls trying to sail and do the paddle boat rentals. Twas a fine way to spend a Father's Day (tm).

Good to see you out, I got there around 1330-1600, caught 2, lost more than that!! Wind made it hard to tell if you had a nibble/bite, lost my share. My "Kroc" had a couple of hits, and also self releases. Just good to get out,...

Thanks for the report. Those are some nice fat trout in your photos. Glad to see the fish are eating!

White caps? I wanted to go too. Sounds like the wind was blowing good there and that wouldnt make soaking power bait enjoyable.

Right on, to catch them on spoons! I got 50-50 lucky with a dick nite spoon the last time I was there.

Spin casting sure is more fun than sitting and watching for a rod tip to wiggle. Sometimes I like to relax like that, but it is a thrill to feel all of the contact fish make on the lures. The wind made casting a little hard, but a nice big Kastmaster still worked well.
