Steel Lake Report – Tuesday, 06-19-12


Early AM Session
I stopped by Steel Lake on the way to work, knowing full well I only had about forty minutes to fish. The dock and boat launch area had a fair number of anglers going at it.

I made my way to the dock, got set up with a yellow and white power egg and threw out my first cast. After no takers for twenty minutes, I made a change by switching out the yellow power egg with a pink one.

The rod tip starts to twitch at about the thirtieth minute. I set the hook and brought a nice standard planter.

I tossed the same eggs to about the same spot and coaxed another trout to bite.

What a great way to start the day!


Late PM Session
Returned to the lake with my son and his friend at about 8:15pm. My son hooks into one and fought it well. We released while it was still in the water (translated = yeah, dad lost it right at the dock, lol).

We tried really hard to get his buddy into one, but sometimes you can’t coax them to bite.

On the bright side, there is always next time.
