We fished both Saturday and Sunday again this weekend on Chelan! Both days we fished for Lakers in the Morning and then switched over to Kokanee in the afternoon. Saturday morning's Laker bite was a little tough in the lower basin, but we found a good bite up at the Yacht Club. Other than that little jaunt all of our Lake Trout were caught in the Lower basin. The Hi-Fly and Smile Blade combo accounted for the majority of our fish, but we also caught some on the the T-4 and U-20 flatfish in purple glow and luminous chartruese. Kokanee fishing was great on Saturday, but we had to work a little harder for them on Sunday. They are really scattering right now, so the bite was hit and miss. We did a lot of moving around and changing depths.. we chased them so deep on one run that we doubled up with a lake trout on one rod and a Kokanee on the other! My set-up for the Kokes still remains the same.. the Macks Lure Double D Dodgers and Kokanee pro's baited with white corn. We had a little surface excitement on Saturday evening while reeling in the gear to call it day.. we had just pulled the weight off our outrigger rod and were reeling it in across the surface when a 23 inch 3.5 lb rainbow trout crushed it!! We saw the whole thing, great way to end a day of fishing! Big thanks to my crews from this weekend!
