Steel Lake Report – Monday, 06-25-12

In order to avoid the crowds and in the hopes of giving me the best chance to catch fish and still complete the tasks on the honey do list and spend time with the kids, I have kept my fishing to the evenings.

8:30 PM
I arrived at the lake, had my line wet by 8:45pm. Some folks have been fishing for a few hours with no bite.


9:00PM

Fish activity comes to the surface with ripples here and there. I’m tempting to throw a spinner or a spoon but I stay with the original plan.

9:05PM
Wondering if I made the right decision. I guess so. Rod tip indicates a take. I set the hook and bring it in.

9:15PM

No other takers for the next thirty minutes. I pack it up and head home. What a relief to not get skunked and a nice way to spend the end of the day.
