Started out driving to the lake on one of the perimeter roads. Window down while driving. A resident of lake is raking leaves or some outside activity. Anyway, I look at him and he yells "slow down"! I thought I was putting along. But look at the speedo to make certain.........and the speedo say's 18mph. Now in this instance, there was no need to shave anything off of 18mph. Shrugged it off as GOMS. Grumpy Old man syndrome.

Troll from mid lake to the north end of the lake with wedding ring/worm on one rod, flatfish on the second rod. One hit. Complete a lap around the lake with another hit that results in one 11incher self released at the boat.

Back at the West end, bass gear is deployed. I snag a cast on a dock, and during retrieval of my lure. A couple old timers commence a conversation from the second story balcony apartments. Big fish in this lake....hard to catch thou.....what ya using.....fish jumping all morning......what ya using, hey I just asked that!.........there is a snag over there. On and on they went. Different old guys than the one earlier with GMOS. These guys were having a FOGS moment (Friendly Old Guy Syndrome)

Working a swimbait along the various docks. Then dragging it on or close to the bottom, my line starts to twitch! I drop the rod tip to slack the line, and watch. Line starts moving off at a right angle. Set the hook. Feels small, lots of head shakes. Fish comes up from under the boat. Imagine my surprise when it is a decent sized trout!

Probably 16" long. But kinda strange was the head was large in comparison to the body. Jaw was much larger than a trout, extending past the eye! No cutthroat slashes were noted. One eye was cloudy and not functioning. The body was slender and short for the head size. The tail was the size of a planter trout. Not from being worn away, like a Triploid trout would have. Never seeing a "old" trout before. This very well was one.

The theme of this fishing trip, certainly seemed to be "old".

Should have noted in the report anything "'old" was released unharmed with the option of getting older in mind.

Interesting, like I've been saying. There is more trout activity on Bitter and Haller this year than I've ever seen. Dudes on Haller lake were pulling out trout as I was bassing yesterday.
That resident fish with the cloudy eye issue (long time in the water) probably has picked up C. Diff.

Remember "Trips" were planted June 11th. Surprised that not many reports on them being pulled out. I was @ Echo yesterday evening, no one around, but then again, no action there either,.. Quad, C-Diff? Wow, I just think it was another sort of infection from the trout farm due to overcrowding and poor nutrition, but could be wrong,..but physically, sounds like a trip,..

I have seen many a trip. This was a fish that looked skinny, similar to a spawned out, unhealthy fish would. Trips cannot reproduce so all there energy goes into feeding. Plus how likely would it be for the jaw to extend past the eye on a trip? I have never seen that feature. Nothing on the fish fit in proportion to the other. Be it head, body or tail size and shape. It was like the Mrs. Potato head of fish. One time I wish I had the phone to take a picture.

Quad, were any trips dumped into Haller? How has the bassin been on Haller?
