I have been going to LBP every day in the early morning, 5:30, trying to get a carp on the hook. Finally success today! Hooked him at 6:30 and with the help of a stranger got him into my trout net at 7:40. Quite a battle on my light rod with 8# test and a #12 hook. I figured out that the most productive method is to tie your hook right on the end of your main line and to flip it out there and leave your spinning reel bail open. I let that fish take line for 15 seconds before closing the bail with my drag as loose as it will go. Then I just slowed him down with my finger on the side of the spool. When it was all said and done I had a 27" 20-25# beauty on the dock. Then I got to watch him swim away. Definitely a 5 star morning!
