Arrived at Lake @ 0800, Six other fishermen already had lines in the water from off the shore, one fish (rainbow @ 13" got on green power bait) Ten minutes after arrival fella got a nice rainbow @ 13" rainbow power bait 16" leader. I got a couple of very hard hits in less than 30 minutes but no luck with a catch I was using chartreuse power bait with a 12" 3lb leader. About an hour into fishing a young gal who came with her Dad caught her first fish, it was a very nice cutthroat, really pretty fish, @ 14" and was she ever excited. Shortly after she got her fish I got a 13" rainbow on rainbow power bait w/12" leader. I use barb less hooks and was able to release the fish to grow and get bigger, other people on the back thought I was nuts, I told them they can catch it next year when it was a lot larger, no one seemed to mind after I said that.
No more fish were caught while I was there 2:00. As soon as the sun broke though the clouds all action stopped. To bad for catching fish, but the sunshine was a nice change from the cold cloudy days we have had the last couple of weeks.
I saw 5 boats come in with no fish. They were using everything from pop gear w/worm to single flatfish only one hit on the flat fish.
Someone asked me if I knew when the lake was going to be stocked? Anyone know? Drop me a e-mail greginoly@aol.com if you know.
I hope to go back again this week and will let you know how it went
