Decided to hit Forbes up last night and boy was it a good! I pulled out two decent Bass fairly quickly, I did not have a scale on me but I suspect the biggest was just over 2lbs. As always, I caught Perch after Perch, all close to the size of the one in the picture. The fun thing about last night was that I finally caught another catfish out of there! It has been a year since my last catfish and I was starting to wonder if a mischievous fisherman was the reason he was even in there but after last night I am pretty positive that is not the case. Right before I left I thought I would give it one more cast, I did not get any bites on the way in but just 1 foot away from shore I hooked the biggest fish I have ever seen out of that lake! It must have been close to 2ft long!!! The fish then promptly snapped my line and most definitely went back to brag about it to his buddies. Given that it was just before dusk when I hooked him my guess is that it was a giant cat but I don't know for sure. The only thing I do know is I will be back there tonight :). I caught most of these fish on a crappie jig with a live night crawler.

Chuck, thx. for the awesome report on this little sleeper of a lake. I too have caught a handful of perch out of there. I have never caught a catfish anywhere honestly. You had one of those great MULTI SPECIES kind of outings. Great story about the monster in the shallows.
Do you suppose it was a carp? I know you thought catfish, but large fish in these urban ponds are so often carp. Don't know if you didn't get a look at it very well or not? I guess I too prefer to put it to rest by thinking/hoping it was a catfish. We are in the thick of it now.... all these urban ponds are warm warm warm..
