I decided to try Sammamish again, but this time, solo. This time, I boated towards the northern end of the lake. Within 10 mins, I had 2 fish already. No size to them though. 1st fish was a little chunky 14" SMB. 2nd fish was a small LMB. I think it's my first LMB of the year, lol, how sad. :(

Anyways, I get to the flats with all the lilly pads and pillars. Worked around there for an hour and NOTHING. Looked really fishy but came up blank. I had a few nibbles along the edge of the weed line, but they were small nibbles. Most likely perch I'm guessing.

So I go back to my original pattern with my first 2 fish. Kept catching lots of small fish. All SMB now too. It was getting a bit windy now. I was fishing fast. I tried to slow down and fish tight to cover, but difficult and no bites to show for it.

Anyways, the bite was consistent fishing out deeper. In 10-14' of water. I only caught fish with 2 lures. A spinnerbait and a crankbait. I tried throwing soft plastics around, but was not producing. Water temp was in the 72 degree range.

Saw several bass fishermen on the water. One guy actually poached an area I was working my way towards. I doubt he had any idea I was going there though, since I was still about a 100 yards away from it, lol. There was this little shallow pocket area I wanted to check out. Maybe next time.

Anyways, I was working this one area where I landed multiple small SMB. On my 3rd fish off that area, I get a solid fish. I'm thinking, finally a big one! Reeling and the fish is getting close to the surface. I get a glimpse of it. It's a pretty big one, but not a bass. At first glance, I thought it was a big trout. Then when I got it closer to the boat, SQUAWFISH!!!! Not as big as the one the wife caught yesterday, but my personal best. Also, biggest fish of the day, lol. Only reason this is a 4-star rating to me, even with all the bass I caught. Though I originally was looking for the LMB bite, SMB works for me.

I did have some lady yell at me, but in a good way, lol. She wanted to tell me how her grandkids catch lots of fish off the end of her dock. But I already knew that, since I was busy catching a bunch near her dock before she came out. :o
