i caught the biggest one i have ever caught today. looked like a mini smallmouth with orange eyes. fished from 1:30pm to 7pm... i walk and fish around the whole lake. every open spot from trees and brush.

its alot of work catching these. i dont just sit in one spot. gotta make hundreds of casts. and its a pain to fillet them. takes me a couple hours. but for how good they taste its well worth the effort.

Nice going, I hope you get the state record, you deserve it with the time you put in!!

How do you prepare them? Bitter lake is outta control on Rock bass, although mostly 7-8". I ate a couple one time, thought they were terrible, but of course doesn't mean that I cooked/prepared them correctly. ( No jokes about Bitter sewage either, LOL)
I realize they are in Green lake, but never really have caught them myself when fishing Green. Will you say what gear you use, or whether you target any certain structures from shore. Nice load of fish!

How large are those Rockers? Hard to tell, but do look to be big for rocks.

ok i fillet them out. no bones. no skin. get a bag of krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix. put the fillets in it and shake em up. fry in pan of oil until brown. miracle whip and ketchup is my sauce i dip them in. i cook all panfish this way. they taste soooo gooood. 7 to 8 inchers in bitter??? oh i better start fishing there. these at green lake are not that big i dont think. i havent measured them. the big one in this picture is the biggest one i have caught so far.
