We missed the morning bite by an hour or so but we figured we would give it a try to see what was happening and to get a feel for the lake for future trips. Trolled up and down at vaarius distances from shore and depths with no results during the morning. Mapped the bottom so we wopuld know where the high spots are. A lot of other boats in the area and we did see 2 fish landed around 10 AM, give or take a little.
About 12:30 a lone 7 lb jack hit my line and went crazy. His nose was just starting to hook and color was great. Made the day worth the gas and plans are in the works for at least 3 more trips in the very near future.
The ramp at Swift Creek is not the best but closer than the dam. Might try the campground ramp next trip.
Not much trash on the water this trip either. Great Day to be alive.
