I am on vacation this week and my youngest son, Wesly, came up to spend some time fishing with me. We were on the North Fork of the Snoqualmie yesterday, and Wes had to head home in the early afternoon, so we headed for Ballinger for a morning of fishing. Arrived at the lake about 7:00AM, no one fishing at all! Water temp. at 10' was 70 degrees.
About 15 minutes in, Wes had a fish on. He played it close to the pier, where it jumped two feet out of the water and threw the hook. About 30 minutes later he landed one, 10 1/2". About 30 minutes later I landed one, 11 1/2". About 9:00 Wes landed his second, 13''. We stayed on 'til 11:00, but only a few subtle bites during those last two hours. Saw one other fish landed by another fellow on the pier. Not many out fishing today.
About 10:00, a family of Ospreys (four) arrived at the lake for what was obviously a fishing lesson for the juniors. The adults dove into the water over and over, until the juveniles would follow. Didn't see them catch fish, but baby Ospreys had a valuable day at fishing school!
Though fishing wasn't extraordinary, having a couple of days with my youngest son was. PTL!
Pics include several from our trip to the North Fork of the Snoqualmie.
