Took my daughter to the Ship Canal for fishing this morning. After our last successful outing, she was eager to go. We fished for about a half an hour at a couple different spots before she got a bite. The first fish stole her bait, but a minute later she had a fish on! (Probably the same one.) It was a little smallmouth, not quite 9" long. She was very excited to have caught another fish. And I was happy to see her catch one two trips in a row. We tried for another fifteen minutes, and then she was ready to go. I didn't push it, because I want fishing to be about fun, and not boredom. I have to overcome a few trips where we got skunked in the past. And it is working like a champ. She is excited about fishing again.
