After no fish landed for me this summer so far, today was incredible... my buddy and I rented a rowboat from the cove ($5/hr) and went out towards the deep spot out in front of the docks, we were probably at a 20 foot depth give or take, casting towards the hole.

we fished the bottom with about a 3 foot leader with a little bit of power bait on the eye of the hook and a worm for a fish snack. pretty quickly we each pulled in a good sized 13" rainbow and we were pretty hopeful, but then along came a nibble...

suddenly, I realized I hooked a pretty large one and it took a little bit for the fish to realize he wasn't able to swim back down, and it was a nice little fight and in comes a 21" 3 Lb 11 oz triploid! I can't believe I caught this thing, despite all the pictures I have seen of them being caught, I finally got one :)

it seemed that fishing from the dock was incredibly slow by the way, I recommend getting a boat.
