A buddy and I fished for funnies last night at Kapowsin. We launched off the public boat launch and started drifting to the right towards the right side coves and shallows. We started off with Rapala floating cranks with limited success. Kept drifting right staying about 100 ft off the right side shore and started to strike hard and fast when we switched to bobbers and bait. Just clipped red worms in half and were getting strikes from everything but big bass and trout. Almost as soon as we wre tossing the bobbers in the fish would strike. Not serious fishing but serious fun. We were out there for about four hours and must have brought up 15-20 fish with virtually no effort. It was great fun and a good way to blow off the frustration of being blanked in the puyallup so far this year!
Talked to the guys trolling near the launch with top water cranks and they (no surprise here) said theyd had no bites all day. The water was very warm and very clear, we were able to see the schools of young ones bumping our baits, like I said before tons of fun!
