I got on the water at about 9 a.m. and left around 3p.m. hoping to catch some smallies and large mouths. I had no luck at all, maybe one bite or maybe I just hooked a rock. I used tubes which rarely fail me, perch and rainbow colored plugs, and craw colored spinner. I've heard that Rock is a great bass lake, but not this time for me. The lake looked to be about a foot low judging by the water line on the rocks. Water temp. was 74 in the morning, and 77 in the afternoon. The weather was perfect, no clouds or wind, the water was glass. I talked to a guy that said he fishes the lake often and it doesn't produce in July or August, but to come back in October and November. I don't know if he was talking about for fishing for bass or trout. I hope to return with a friend that knows the lake and how to fish it, as this was my second trip in about 30 years. There were just a few boats out and I still had fun reguardless.
