Catching the rock bass has been alot slower this month. i pulled out 15 on Saturday and 24 on Sunday. last weekend i only caught 23 total. maybe i have caught them all i don't know. but its been alot of work to catch em. they have moved to deeper more shaded areas. since im stuck fishing from shore i gotta wade chest deep in the water to get to new areas i haven't fished yet. Saturday, i casted out and had a tap tap in my line and when i set the hook i could feel some unexpected weight. the fish started pulling drag then jumped into the air (that's when i spotted the lateral line of a largemouth) and it swam right back into the brush. my 6 pound test didn't have a chance and it broke instantly. people 100 feet away on the dock could hear me swearing. lol. i wasn't expecting a 4 to 5 pound largie to bite a 2 inch senko. yup i just gave away my rock bass killer

On the East side of the lake... about 500' N. of the 65th street dock, there is a metal contraption along the shoreline. It is something you could sort of stand on and cast out, maybe a filter or something for incoming water?? In that general area out a little ways is the deepest part of the lake according to the topographical map I have.

yea thats one of my rock bass holes. i usually catch an average of 10 or so at that spot. one time i had a largie chase a rocker while i was realing it in right at that spot.
