We set out for a great day fishing, after getting off of Martha (South) with only 2 small perch (throw backs) around 11am, we decided to head for old trusty Ballinger Lake. Within 10 minutes of leaving the boat launch wham fish on, unfortunately there seemed to be some sists on the rear of the fish, so I threw him back. We ended up fishing to the NW side of the lake for a while, seems all the fish have migrated to the golf course side of the lake (Prob something to do with the hawk & the eagle that call the lake home on the SE side of the lake), anywho, we continued fishing and again one turned up, again it had spots on the left side of the tail so we threw him back aswell. Not a good day as far as keepers, looks like we may be finding another spot for the remainder of the season, those are the only two fish ive seen there this year & they look to be diseased. Hope this helps. Tight Lines!

the north side of the lake is much deeper than the south side.. each time i have been out there this yr the only spots i mark fish on the finder is the deeper north side of the island, we have let all the fish go as well..

There's a spot close to the creek mouth where you can drop a hook with no sinker, baited with worm... it's only about 7 feet deep. You do catch some perch too, but there's a lot of trout to be caught there too with this technique.
