Got a late start today. Checked the air on the tires on the trailer and they were down about 5 PSI. So I had to take care of that first.

Cool and cloudy morning. The parking lot has about 15-20 rigs because of the salmon run I guess. Anyways, I get out there and only have 3 different lures tied on. A football head, shallow crank and a swimbait.

The perch were pecking my swimbait like mad. Switching to my crank and same thing, but I manage to land a small SMB, 8" or so within the first few mins of fishing. I get to a point where I had 2 bass chasing my lure from before. Made multiple casts with my setups. I get a chase from a decent SMB, about 15" or so but turned at boat side. That's all I could do in this area.

I boated to a small shallow area with a point that drops off into deeper water. I'm fan casting around with my shallow crank and get a couple of perch. I continue my motion and I'm starting to cast out from shallow into deeper waters. I'm standing in maybe about 8' of water and casting into about 16' of water. A couple turns of the handle and wham! Feels like a big one. Don't know what it is just yet. Hasn't shown itself. Eventually I see it's a nice fat LMB. Barely hooked, but I get it into the net. 18.5" @ 3lb 12oz. Looked a lot fatter than it's weight. Almost jumped out of the boat while I was taking it's picture. It flopped right onto the rail, with it's body halfway out. I was barely able to grab the fish before it went over, lol.

Anyways, I make the exact same cast and another bite, but miss. Do it again and fish on! Just a small SMB. About 10" or so. Make the exact same cast and miss again. Try again and fish on! This time a 10" squawfish, lol. I keep making the same cast and now all I'm getting area nips and follows from the perch.

I wanted to fish this point that I usually stop at all the time, but there was already a bass boat there fishing it. :(

After about 3 hours of bass fishing, catching a handful of small fishies, I decided to try out my new trolling equipment. Turns out, my main motor goes too fast to troll. According to GPS, the slow speed possible is 3 MPH. So I started using my bow electric motor for about an hour. I set the speed at 1.2 MPH with 2 colors of lead core out with a dick nites dodger and a wedding ring.

Cloud is breaking up over the lake and sun is making a presence.

At about 45 mins into it, I finally get a bite. But by the time I grabbed the rod, the fish was gone. I've never realized this, but trolling is so SLOW. I guess I'm just so use to making hundreds of casts, lol.
