The wife and I battled the wind yesterday at Coeurdalene Lake in search of some pike.

I missed about a 10 pound fish only a few minutes in to the day when he hit a soft plastic frog but didn't hook up. He seemed to have no interest in returning for another try when I repeatedly teased him with additional casts. That's pike fishing for ya.

We were out fairly early trying to beat the boat traffic and the rough water the pleasure boaters create. We certainly did that but mother nature had white caps rolling on the lake most of the day. We fished for about 6 hours and managed to hammer out 4 pike. The largest being 27". The fish seem to be a little more active than they were a couple of weeks ago but I think some more cooler weather will get them going soon. I'll give them another try next weekend.
Missed the one fish on a frog and caught 4 on black and blue spinner baits. All fish were in about 10 feet of water and relating to the cabbage beds.
